TEXAS STREET BRIDGE TRANSFORMED INTO BAKOWSKI BRIDGE OF LIGHTS

The Texas Street bridge glows again. Last night, on the palindromic date of 2/22/22, the originally named O.K. Allen bridge became the Bakowski Bridge of Lights.

The bridge, which opened in 1934, sports new lighting comprising 2,982 feet of 13,000 LEDs that interactively illuminate.

It has been dressed in lights before. On New Year’s Eve of 1993, over 38,000 local residents packed celebrated the $480,000 installation of neon lights.
